Apple’s iPhone is expected to be unveiled on September 12. This iPhone has reportedly being caught already by a “reliable source” from TechCrunch. The source allegedly caught an iPhone prototype in his server logs showing a user agent named iPhone5,2. If this is indeed true, Apple’s engineers or iPhone tester are testing Safari in the iPhone 5 by browsing on random websites.
We weren’t able to glean any other info from the one session the prototype iPhone was engaged in, but the naming convention falls in line with what others have previously reported. It remains unclear if the iPhone 5,2 will go into production – as opposed to the iPhone 5,1 – or whether it will remain an internal-only test unit.
