It appears that Sprint will carry a Windows Phone 8 smartphone early this year. As discovered by TheVerge, Sprint announced that a Windows Phone 8 is ‘coming soon’ in a support page created on  January 3rd of this year. The page doesn’t mention any phone specifically. If you like Windows Phone 8 devices, then you will love unlimited data. Once Sprint obtains the Windows Phone 8 it will be the only opportunity to have a Windows Phone 8 with unlimited data in the US.

Microsoft’s next-gen console – Xbox 720 – will be unveiled next year with Blu-ray support and directional audio, a TV output and input for watching and recording TV shows. These details were leaked by Xbox World magazine which also stated that the next Xbox will be simply called “Xbox”, not Xbox 720. With the new Xbox system, it is also said that Kinect 2 will be introduced along with the new Xbox and an ’innovative controller’ – we’re likely to see a redesigned controller. The new Xbox codenamed ’Durango’ would use a CPU with “four hardware cores, each divided into four logical cores” with 8GB of RAM, the mag says.

Xbox 720 rumor from earlier this year also points out that Microsoft’s next Xbox will use a Blu-ray drive and is going to be unveil with Kinect 2.

Ahead of Windows Phone 8 release, Microsoft has released the application that will transfer files between Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8/RT. The Windows Phone 8 application for Windows 8 and RT, My Windows Phone, will manage Windows Phone 8 devices, like iTunes does for iOS devices. Unlike iTunes, the Windows Phone app allow you to transfer music, photos, and videos from the phone to the computer and vice versa. Windows Phone app also tells you how much space each content is taking up. Here’s all you’ll be able to do your Windows Phone 8 with the Windows Phone app:

Want to know how the Surface was made? Microsoft has uploaded a video to their Surface YouTube channel titled “The making of Microsoft Surface”, where it is shown how the Surface was created. The video explain how they started the designed of the tablet and a keyboard comfortable for people to use with the tablet.

If you’re buying Windows 8 – not as online software download – here’s how the box of the disc will look. As you can see, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro will come in two different box. Windows 8 appears to come in a white box, while Windows 8 Pro will come in a black block.

You will be able to buy Windows 8 on October 26. Three different Windows 8 versions will be available to purchase from retail store or as software download  upgrade. Windows RT will be the third version of Windows 8 optimized for tablets.

Current Windows users won’t have to shell out $200 if they want to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro. Microsoft today announced that if your computer is running Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 you will qualify to download Windows 8 Pro for just $40. Microsoft will allow you to installed this copy from your desktop, create your own bootable USB or burn it to DVD as an .ISO file for upgrade or back up. If you want to order your own back up DVD from Microsoft, it will be $15 more plus shipping and handling. Windows 8 Pro packages at retail stores will cost you $69.99. This promotion will only be available until January 31st, 2013

Microsoft also announced its Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant. Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant is like a Windows 8 version of Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. The assistant will download Windows 8 when you purchase it from Windows.com and will let you know what hardware and software installed on your computer are compatible with Windows 8. The upgrade assistant can burn or create a bootable copy of Windows 8.

Would you buy a Surface phone if Microsoft ever offer it? This concept of a Microsoft Surface 8 from DeviantArt shows a really nice looking phone, that could possibly look even better than the iPhone 4S.

Surface tablet failed on Steve Sinofsky during Microsoft presentation of the Surface tablet. At least Sinofsky didn’t shit in his pant.

A second model of Microsoft Surface tablet will be available at a higher price with better specs. Surface for Windows 8 Pro features USB 3.0 — not USB 2.0 like the Windows RT version of the Surface. There’s also more storage for Windows 8 Pro Surface which can go up to 128GB, unlike Windows RT Surface that only has 64GB in the top model.
