The most important part of this update is that it reduces the memory usage up to 50%, and the  new version of the hardware-accelerated Canvas to speed up HTML 5 sites. Another small change added in this update is that it no longer display the ‘http://’ URL prefix in the address bar. Several stability and security issues has been fixed in Firefox 7 as well.   • Bookmark and password changes now sync almost instantly when using Firefox Sync

  • The WebSocket protocol has been updated from version 7 to version 8
