Mozilla already has its next number to keep Firefox up with Firefox 9. The final version of Firefox 9 can be downloaded right now, although it will be officially available tomorrow — they’re both the exact same versions. Firefox 9 brings a major performance boost in loading sites that use JavaScript heavily such as Twitter and Facebook; Firefox 9 now loads JavaScript 30% faster than the previous version. On the Firefox 9 Mac OS X Lion’s version, it now adds support for two finger swipe navigation. Mozilla also says this update ‘improves standards support for HTML5, MathML, and CSS.’
