Free Windows 10 copy reservation now showing up to Windows 7/8 users

    -

As Microsoft cleared out around two weeks ago, Windows users running a genuine copy of Windows 7 or Windows 8 will receive a free copy of Windows 10. Microsoft is now sending a notification to those users explaining how the program will work and asking them to reserve their copy. After reserving Windows 10, Microsoft says that the OS will download once available. After is fully downloaded, the user will have an option to install it. If you change your mind and don’t want to install Windows 10, you can cancer the reservation at any time. As noticed by Reddit user p4block, here’s Microsoft notifying Windows 7 and Windows 8 users how the upgrade program will work:

The notification only shows up to users that installed the KB3035583 update, an update that allows Windows 10 to install when it fully download from Windows Update. The free Windows 10 update for Windows 7/8 will only be available for a year. After a year from the official Windows 10 release, Windows 7 and Windows 8 users will have to pay for a full license in order to install Windows 10 in their machine.

Not too long ago, it was revealed that the retail copy of Windows 10 Professional will cost $149 and will have the same specs requirement as Windows 8 currently does.
