iOS developers can now enjoy the third beta of iOS 5.1. Apple has recently released iOS 5.1 beta 3 build 9B5141a to developers. Developers can download this update over-the-air if the device is running on previously iOS 5.1 beta 2 on iOS 5 compatible devices such as the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 1/2, and the third and fourth generation of iPod touch. This update can also be obtained through the Apple Dev center for developers.

The most notable feature iOS 5.1 beta 3 brought is that it now added the toggle to enable and disable 3G on iPhone 4S, allowing you to use 3G or EDGE data speed, which can’t be done on iOS 5.0.1 or iOS 5. This feature was added because disabling 3G can dramatically improve your iPhone battery, if you didn’t know, because the iPhone won’t be using energy to look for 3G signal in a place with poor signal.
