iPad Pro teardown shows it’s extremely difficult to repair

    -

iPad Pro teardownFolks over iFixit have released all the information and images they gathered when they dismantled Apple’s latest tablet, the iPad Pro. As with most Apple products, iFixit revealed that the iPad Pro is extremely difficult to repair by yourself or your dollar-repair Asian at the strip mall. One of the issue is that if the new Smart Connector port gets damaged – although unlikely – it’s impossible for it to be replaced. Another reason why the iPad Pro received a low repairability score from iFix is because the LCD and front panel glass are fused together, which increases the risk of damaging the screen when opening it while increasing the cost of repair as well. When dismantling the tablet, iFixit also had to be battle with the excessive amount of adhesive holding all components together.
