With iOS 8, it appears that Apple is allowing their device to be more open to users and developers. When the company announced iOS 8 earlier today, one of the new changes in iOS 8 is that the update will allow third-party keyboards in to iOS users. This is currently not possible with iOS 7 and older version, but it’s something that Android has always had. The new changes caught the attention of famous Android keyboard makers Fleksy and Swiftkey. Both developers today announced that they will port their Android keyboard to iOS 8.
SwiftKey’s co-founders Ben Medlock and Jon Reynolds stated that they have already stated the development of Swiftkey for iOS 8:
