It appears that holidays are the best time for PSN to go down. The whole network went down during Christmas holiday last year in which resulted Sony compensating PSN users. Now again the PlayStation Network has been down for this three day holiday weekend. Sony has confirmed in their official PSN Status page that all PSN services are down for PS3 and PS4 users. Users are currently not able to sign in, play online or download content from the PlayStation Store. “You may be experiencing issues related to signing in or creating an account on PlayStation®Network. We appreciate your patience while we address this,” the company declared in the PSN status page.
It’s still unknown whether this problem is due to a DDoS attack like it have happened before, of if the network is under maintenance. Sony has not given any official statement regarding to the problem other than a tweet stating that they are “aware that PSN is experiencing connectivity issues,” and the issue is under investigation.
