The PlayStation Network outage for the holiday season caused some inconveniences for PS4 users, specially those who paid for a PlayStation Plus subscription. Since it’s really unfair that you paid for 1 year for your PlayStation Plus account and thanks to the outage you would’ve only received around 360 days, Sony announced the compensations PSN Plus subscribers will receive. Sony Entertainment will offer “all PlayStation Plus members that had an active membership or free trial on December 25th a membership extension of five days,” as they wrote on their official PlayStation Blog. PSN Plus members will also receive a 10 percent discount that will apply to all items included in their shopping cart.
In addition, sometime this month we will announce that for a limited time, we will be offering a 10 percent discount code good for a one-time discount off a total cart purchase in the PlayStation Store as a thank you to all PSN members.
This discount can be used toward content available on PS Store including blockbuster new releases, award winning indie games, game add-ons and season passes, and an enormous selection of TV and Movies.
The five days extension will be automatically applied to all affected PSN Plus account, so the users won’t have to take any action to receive their compensation.
