If you were here several weeks ago, you would’ve known about this cool mod for iPhone 4 and 4S, ‘Luminescent Logo Mod Kit for iPhone 4/4S.’ This mod kit marketed by Chinese company KO Gadget makes the Apple logo on the iPhone back plate to light up when ever the iPhone screen is on — if it’s properly installed. KO Gadget started selling this mod kit for $42 and then jacked up the price to $79. This company has now received a notification from Apple requesting them t to cease all distribution and marketing of this product. This is what they posted on their Facebook page:
The website, http://store.kogadget.com/ , is offering for sale and selling
merchandise bearing counterfeit Apple trademark(s). Such illegal use of Apple
Trademark(s) is a violation of federal and State trademark laws.
Apple sent the Chinese company a cease and desist order stating that they are selling counterfeit product with Apple trademarks. Although Apple sent this order because of the infringement of its trademark, it’s likely being sent due to safely reasons. When installing this kit, it requires procedures that aren’t so safe to do.
